Regional IT Manager


Regional IT Manager – Education Sector –South & East England - Remote with travelling to sites
 
Salary – to 60k plus benefits which includes; remote working, 26 days holidays, laptop, phone, health cash plan, retail discounts including restaurants & gym memberships
 
The successful Regional IT Manager will be expected to work within the South & East regions of the country, supporting the delivery of the trust's strategic direction for Information Technology. The Regional IT Manager will have previously worked within the Education Sector and will oversee the IT, you will be responsible for delivery of IT strategies; actively being the link between the region, Head Office and the wider organisation for the two-way flow of information sharing. You will provide the Trust with oversight of ICT related contracts, staffing resources, development need and maintenance required at all levels. The IT Manager will work closely with the Head of ICT Integration & Web Services Manager to support the design and development of a cloud solution.
 
Core responsibilities for this IT Manager role
 

  • Previously worked as and ICT Manager or IT Manager within the Education Sector        
  • Work closely with academies in the designated regions to ensure the use and provision of technology is effective and supports and develops daily operations
  • As required, deliver academy, regional and/or national training events, and facilitate or deliver the opportunities to upskill staff
  • Work closely with Central IT Services, Director of ICT, and the Data Protection Officer, to ensure academies provide a continuously available, compliant, cloud-based IT solution for everyday working. 
  • Leadership oversight (non-line management) responsibility of all ICT staff and ICT equipment.  Develop a positive leadership and management relationship with ICT staff in all academies gaining their trust and ‘buy in’ for future change projects.
  • Work with senior regional, national & Head Office staff to develop and progress plans to create regional based groups of academies working together to share knowledge, resources and services to provide capacity within the group
  • Develop a comprehensive ICT development strategy and cost model for each academy – taking account of maintenance, better use of ICT to support teaching and learning

  • Backup and recovery strategies
  • Green technologies’ reduction in energy consumption from ICT
  • Microsoft Azure management
  • Cloud Telephony technologies
  • Wide Area Networks in particular Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
  • Cyber Security protecting and recovering networks & devices.
  • Software licensing, Wi-Fi technologies
