ICT Manager – Education Trust – London, City of London
 
The successful ICT Manager will be expected to work within the London cluster of academies to support the delivery of the trust's strategic direction for Information Technology. The ICT Manager will have previously worked within the Education Sector and will oversee the IT, you and the senior ICT Team, you will be responsible for delivery of IT strategies; actively being the link between the region, Head Office and the wider organisation for the two-way flow of information sharing.
 
Core responsibilities for this IT Manager role
 
 

  • Oversee the provision of ICT technical support & services within the Education Trust to include the London academies.
  • To support the use of ICT through maintenance of software, hardware & related equipment, whilst providing support to staff & pupils
  • Provide training and coaching for staff to upskill & enable access to systems to maximise student learning & improve delivery
  • With senior management, you will plan & implement the Trust, academy and ICT strategy & service provision, managing many aspects of ICT technical support.
  • Focus on availability of systems, security & connectivity (local academy and cluster active and passive networking).
  • Line management of technicians at local academies.
 
 
Core skills
 
  • Install & maintain computer hardware, clients, laptops, audio & visual equipment
  • Manage the inventory of ICT equipment & ensure it is up to date, ensure starters are equipped and leavers return academy property.
  • Maintain ICT equipment and infrastructure onsite across all cluster academies to a high standard.
  • To manage the expansion and maintenance of the cluster academies’ network infrastructure including switches, cabling & wireless networks
  • Routine administration including data backups and disaster recovery, patch management, Active Directory maintenance and administration of cloud-based systems.
  • Software installation, maintenance and upgrading in line with the academy and cluster development policy and patch management policy, as well as ongoing license audit and management.
  • Maintaining up to date workstation images and deploying them where necessary.
  • Administration and development of Internet, Intranet, Extranet and E-mail systems, including Learning Platforms and their website as well as academy websites & cloud services.
  • To keep abreast of technological developments and encourage the use of ICT best practices at all levels across the Trust.
  • To support staff and students with the use of ICT and support the development of their digital skills where required.
  • Support and manage the software infrastructure for onsite servers and system that are not cloud based. i.e. CCTV systems, WiFi, SIMS, finance packages or similar.
  • Support the regional and central ICT staff in the operation of cloud services for systems that are being moved to the cloud
