Technical Designer

Technical Designer – Nottingham/Hybrid - Up To £45k + Car & Fuel Allowance + Benefits

My client who are a key player in the security solutions market are looking for a highly driven and self-motivated Technical Designer to join their Technical Team and ensure high quality technical and commercial input. The key to this role is ensuring the design remains truly customer focused, fit for purpose and in line with company policies. Given the shift in technology in the industry the ideal candidate would be capable of incorporating the latest tech into their solutions.

The Technical Designer would hold the following accountabilities:

  • Prepare compelling designs that are compliant with agreed requirements or specifications
  • Perform site visits and conduct technical surveys, gathering preliminary information regarding design requirement.
  • Undertake design checks and endorse accordingly, prior to design submissions being issued to the client.
  • Provide lead role in terms of technical support/input in relation to compilation of tender submissions by liaising with bid managers.

The following skills and experience are required:
  • High level of understanding in the design of electronic security systems
  • Detailed understanding of CCTV (Analogue & IP), Access Control, Intruder Detection
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wired and Wireless Networking
  • Understanding of cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud.
  • A good understanding of virtualisation systems such as VMWare, Hyper-V and HA.
