Network Manager – Education Sector – Stoke on Trent

The successful Network Manager will be expected to work in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire to support the IT service to provide an effective and efficient IT Technical Support Services to staff and pupils. The Network Manager will have preferably worked within the Education Sector and will oversee the IT, you will be responsible for provision, configuration, maintenance and compliance of IT equipment and technical support for staff and students. You will provide user training for both hardware and software as well as helping with IT project including budget, outcomes, staff and more.

Core responsibilities for this Network Manager role
 

  • Previously worked as an ICT Technician or Network Manager within the Education Sector        
  • Provide specialist input into working practices, daily routines to ensure ICT is maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and ensure it is up to date and new starters are given appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate certification and level of skill to support the needs of the academies and the role responsibilities. 
  • Manage expansion of the academy network infrastructure including switches, cabling and wireless network equipment.
  • Install and maintain computer hardware, AV equipment and peripherals.
  • Support and manage the database infrastructure for onsite servers and systems.
  • Support regional staff to create closer working relationships and share knowledge and IT support.
  • Maintain the budget ensuring expenditure does not exceed agreed levels and lead the negotiation and delivery of SLA with external service providers.
 
 Core skills for this IT Network Manager;
  • Track record of leading an IT team.
  • Active Directory, Group policy, DHCP and DNS management.
  • Experience of IT Security / Cyber security
  • Strong understanding of networks, LAN, WAN, and internet technologies
  • Working knowledge of policies, procedures, codes of practice
  • Working knowledge of E-learning advantageous
  • Knowledge of budget planning and management
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
  • Dealing with stakeholders at all levels
