Head of IT - Banking

Head of IT - Northampton - Banking / Financial services
 
This market leading Financial Services organisation based in Northampton, is looking for a dynamic Head of IT to lead a team of IT Infrastructure engineers responsible for supporting and managing the organisation’s Infrastructure, including both their own internal systems and the platform that their solutions are hosted on.
 
The successful Head of IT will come from a Financial services background and their experience will see them managing teams in IT infrastructure, operations, security, and development. You will be an excellent communicator who has the ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation.
 
Core responsibilities
 

  • To manage and maintain the infrastructure 24/7 service within budget and in accordance with defined SLAs.
  • Multi-site IT Operations Management
  • Provide an effective, reliable and secure communications infrastructure that follows industry best practice to underpin all Group computer systems.
  • Capacity plan services provided to customers to ensure that expectations are managed.
  • Ensure the integrity of the Group’s electronically held information by ensuring a high-level of Information Governance and information security and by ensuring that back-up and disaster recovery plans are robust and tested.
  • Accountable for delivering the Infrastructure project roadmap.
  • Construct business cases for new projects.
  • Understand and analyse processes and working practices across the team and work to continually make things better.
  • Look outside of the department, break down silos across the organization and create a more joined-up way of working.
  • Work with the CTO to shape, size, and grow the team.
  • Manage key relationships, including those with partners and development teams.
 
Essential Experience
 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Head of IT role.
  • Financial Services, Banking
  • VMWare, PRINCE 2 or other project management experience
  • Oracle, Oracle Financials is preferred
  • IT security, incident management and business continuity
  • Good understanding of software development, BI and Oracle Cloud systems
