Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Milton Keynes

Location – Milton Keynes commutable from Northampton, Luton, Oxford, Aylesbury etc
Salary - £55-65k plus benefits

The Senior Infrastructure engineer will lead a small team of IT engineers providing pre and post sales client consultancy, together with deploying & managing client IT infrastructure projects. This includes designing, deploying, monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting hosted, network, server, telephony, security and infrastructure solutions for multiple clients.

This is a client-facing, hands-on role, based in their Milton Keynes office with some UK travel required.

This role would suit an experienced IT infrastructure engineer with a background of designing & delivering complex solutions for multiple clients in a hand-on approach.

Required skills for the IT Infrastructure engineer;

Strong technical background including presales client consulting and requirements gathering
Experience in Linux / Unix, VMWare, Hyper- V, Networking and Storage.
Experience with AWS or Azure.
Experience in virtualisation and scalability of infrastructures such as server clustering and load balancing.
Experience of networking including: Program switches, VLAN’s, spanning tree, multi wan firewalls, IPsec tunnels, wireless networking
Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) dealing with multiple clients and products
Proven ability to troubleshoot network and server issues such as performance and scalability
Excellent standard of written and spoken English, with experience of working with clients at a senior level
A full UK driving licence

Ideally, you will have relevant IT Infrastructure qualification (i.e. CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSP) and would be open to gain other certifications in ITIL Foundation v3 Certification or Prince 2 Certification.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work to deadlines, think on their feet, take responsibility and work under their own initiative. An excellent inter personnel manner is essential, always adopting a clear, positive, friendly but decisive approach.
