Software Tester, QA Analyst – Greenock, InverClyde, Renfrewshire Salary - 35k + excellent benefits Selenium, ISTQB, Agile, Scrum, Automation Testing – This is not your 'ordinary' QA Analyst / Tester role and will therefore require the skills of a vibrant and inventive character who can work collaboratively to meet deadlines. The Tester will be joining a development team based out of their Greenock offices with good links to Glasgow, Port Glasgow, InverClyde, Clydebank & Renfrewshire The Tester / Test Analyst / QA Analyst will contribute to ideas for improvement as well as identify, prioritise and resolve any issues accordingly. You need to be able to manage your workload and improve product quality by supporting the rest of the team. By providing feedback to the developers as you go and working closely with the Product Owners, you will receive regular feedback to ensure the end product meets the highest standards. We want you to strive to uphold and improve team ethics, standards and practices continually. The Tester will also be responsible for building on their suite of automated Selenium tests to ensure our applications have good test coverage to enable Continuous Integration. Core Responsibilities for this Tester / Test Analyst role: • Plan, execute and document the testing of our software suite using a combination of manual and automated testing Selenium Tests. • Work closely with Developers as part of a SCRUM team to test user stories as they're being developed. • Liaise effectively with Product Owners while in UAT or Pilot phases. • Collaborate with Product Owners from the onset to understand requirements, define test cases and suggest conditions of acceptance. • Log and help to prioritise defects using Visual Studio Team Services. • Update our bank of regression scripts on a continual basis. • Work with other members of your team to iteratively improve working practices. • Assist with planning the regression testing activities in preparation for a release. Essential skills: • Demonstrable expertise in the whole testing life cycle including knowledge of various test methodologies, definition of test plans and test scripts, test execution and raising defects. • Experience in creating and executing simple database queries to support testing, such as using SQL and MongoDB. • Ability to work in an environment which provides a responsive customer experience. • Experience working in an environment utilising Continuous Integration, and experience in build management. • Experience writing automated test using tools such as Selenium, Specflow and Ranorex. • Experience testing web services and web applications, and using API testing tools such as Postman. • Preferably ISTQB-BCS Certified Tester Foundation Level.
