This advanced Software House based near Redditch, Worcestershire, with good links to Birmingham and the West Midlands, are looking to add a Product to join an established development team and work closely with the project manager and the development team lead to develop solutions for clients. They are looking for the Product Owner to develop and define many aspects of the role, as well as the tools and processes used within the product team and software development life cycle. Candidates must come from a telecoms background.

Responsibilities of the Product Owner

Build and manage the overall ownership of the business's product backlog
Gather information and translate the requirements into straightforward Functional specifications, including mock-ups, workflows etc.
Work with QA to define acceptance tests
Working closely with business stakeholders to help define the wider business product and strategic roadmap
Provide vision and direction to the development team
Participate in scrum planning, progress and retrospect sessions
Be highly available for the development and QA teams to aid in whatever way needed
Manage customer/stakeholder expectations on product delivery
Research and analyse the market, competitors and end users
Own the overall life cycle of all products in the portfolio, from inception through to end of life

Experience & Requirements for the Product Owner role;

Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
Experience of requirements gathering, specification and user story creation
Excellent understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
Experience working within different development environments I.e. Waterfall and Agile
Ability to lead and influence all types of stakeholders, including business managers, developers, QA, external partners etc.
Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
An aptitude for technology or come from a technical background
