Head of Software – West Midlands Salary – 75k plus benefits This advanced online organisation based in Worcestershire are looking to recruit a Head of Software / Development Manager to manage the development department and build and deliver their new software platform. This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will have 2-4 years in a similar development manager role where you will be responsible for managing the resource within the software development department and ensure deliverables are met and will report and monitor all progress. The Head of Software will take responsibility for the re-engineering the software development lifecycle whilst building and inspiring the teams of product managers, developers and testers. The role will see you defining best practice in agile development and you will be able to define architecture and toolsets whilst taking a data driven view on how you can best deliver a lean product. You will have strong leadership skills and have a proven track record of delivery. Core requirements for this Head of Software role; Experienced in building mobile and web-based systems for the consumer market.Experience in building systems for large scale ( 20000+) users, ideally utilising cloud technology such as AWS or Openstack.Proven experience in building and inspiring a development team.Managed a product development through the full lifecycle at least once utilising tools and systems such as Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub etcExperienced in leading and growing development teams, introducing best practices in areas such as agile, Kanban, Scrum and code qualityDemonstrate an ability to drive change within a business and re-engineer the software development lifecycleStrong project management experience.Able to input into strategic decisions on platform design at a senior level. The successful Head of Software will be able to drive initiatives across the department, leading from the front whilst coming from a strong Agile/Scrum background.
