A talented C# Developer x 2 is required to join a progressive software house in Birmingham. The company have a dedicated client base of large FTSE organisations and their software is highly regarded as they proudly boast an outstanding product suite and a software development team of big hitters to thrive in.
You will be working within a development team to deliver sophisticated web & windows applications for current clients along with a lot of new development planned as they have two large new clients. The production of robust, tested, quality code is paramount and reflects their commitment to delivering software of the very highest quality.
 
 
Key Responsibilities for this Developer / Analyst programmer role:
 

  • Develop quality software solutions for Windows and Web applications using C# and VB.net / ASP.net with SQL Server Databases.
  • Develop robust, scalable, high availability API solutions using the .Net framework
  • Participate in SCRUM ceremonies; contributing to software planning and design.
  • Work closely with Products Owners to refine user stories in-line with stakeholder requirements
  • Work collaboratively as part of a self-organising cross functional team
  • Be committed to self-improvement and learning of new technologies.
 
 
Essential skills
 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ industry experience developing .Net applications in either C# or VB.Net.
  • Experience of developing RESTful API’s
  • Experience working with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (Angular JS training offered).
  • Experience developing ASP.net MVC web applications.
  • SQL Server with a sound understanding of relational database design.
  • Knowledge and experience of writing unit tests and mocking.
  • Understanding of SOLID design principles.
  • Ability to work within established coding standards and tools.
 
Desirable skills;
 
  • Educated to degree level in relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience within a SCRUM environment.
  • Microservice architecture – Windows services, REST API.
  • Software security.
  • MongoDB and other similar database architectures.
  • Test Driven Development.
  • Software Design Patterns.
  • GIT, Octopus Deploy and Team City.
